We are all expected to be perfect nowadays and if we do the slightest thing wrong, such as parking in the wrong place because the signs are unclear then we get hit with a parking ticket. This is expensive and does not add to the quality of life.
In some quarters the London Borough of Barnet is known as Broken Barnet because it's management is itself far from perfect but that does not stop them from issuing at least 100,000 parking tickets ( Penalty Charge Notices = PCN ) every year. So a simple error could cost you £100 or more. For a person on the minimum wage that represents over 16 hours of work ( if we exclude tax & NI - so more like half the week's wages gone ).
Is this really the sort of society that we want to live in ?

So the purpose of this site is to help you to fight back in the London Borough of Broken Barnet against their one-sided and inefficient parking controls.
What do they know at the the London Borough of Broken Barnet, sat in their over-manned ivory towers ironically entitled the North London Business Park ( well it is in North London, and it is a park of sorts, and oh yes, plenty of funny business does go on there ) ?
What they don't know is how to put up a sign marking the start of a CPZ ( Controlled Parking Zone ) or what length the lines should be that are painted on the road or what to put on the little signs on poles at each bay. So this website is going to help you hang on to your money, stop the Council collecting Council Tax in the guise of PCNs and give you guidance on what to say in your appeal as many of their tickets have been issued when they should not have been.
Broken Barnet is a big place so Miss Feezance needs your help about which more shortly.
Yours appealingly
Miss Feezance
Hi Miss Feezance,
ReplyDeleteOne of the major problems really is the voiceless society we have in the UK. If you search for people's opinions on the internet regarding parking for example you don't find much, yet everybody hates it.
I've had so many unfair parking tickets over the years, I can't think of a single one where I thought ok, I did wrong there I deserver a penalty.
Worst of all are the Schools in the UK, how can you build schools with no parking? Is the UK the only country in the world with this absurd concept?
The parking attendants hang around schools all over the country around 3.15pm waiting to fine parents who just cannot park anywhere, is that a joke or what?
Does the government care? No, every money transaction in the country, generates revenue for the treasury, not to mention that I no longer believe in politics as I think that ultimately does not work. Nothing is proactive and changes only come about after the worst has happened for a 100 years, by then it does matter anyway, as you may be dead. We live in the greediest of societies, focused on money and personal success, yet nobody realizes that life is just too short and we are doing nothing about it. We should be spending money finding out how to live healthier and longer, what is the point of going to space when the rocket you designed wont be in space well after you're dead because you live for too short a period!
Ok I digressed but nevertheless is all part of the point in some way or another...
In the UK the government allows any property developer to build as many properties as they want without any consideration for parking! As long as the properties sell. This is one of the reasons there isn't anywhere left to park, as well as lack of investment.
Its a sell, sell society with no regards for the consequences. Look at the state of the world today with all the inflated prices!
I must say the Bristish have a special talent for over pricing everything, because they rely on a reputation England had many years ago when there was engineering, creativity, skill and quality in the british industry. Now if anything is made in Britain I ran from it, as to me in almost 99% of the cases it means cheaply produced and very, very well presented (this country speciality), where the content will be rubbish.
Now the parking issue will just get worse, as it will Britain's roads, public transport and National Health. Unfortunately for all the british cleverness you never thought to look after your own land and you own interests.
Before you ask I am British myself, not UK born though thank goodness! ;-)
Every time the work parking tickets are mentioned I just seem to rembember Ken Livingstone's first 2 years a Mayor, to me he is the one that introduced all sorts of fees in London's road including the biggest scam of all the Congestion Charge! More revenue there for the government...
Politicians are all incopetent and out of touch with the real world, the join a "club" that has its own rules and culture rules and none of it really relates to the real population out there...
Grumpy opinions but I have lived for more than 40 years, so you see the lack of change and realize that everything is and has been going around in circles for decades and decades, now I understand why older people lose interest and fall out of touch with the world...
Cheers.
